Why you suggest PET sequins?

From 2016, we recommend our brand customers to switch PVC sequins to PET sequins. Many the loose sequins are sewed on clothes and one biggest worry is the color fading after washing. To be honest, this always happen to PVC metallic colors especially the red and cerise color. Luckily we solved this problem with PET sequins. For all series red and cerise and royal blue color, we use PET material for our customers only as long as we know that is for clothing or for resell. The second is that PET film has smoother surface, and it is thinner, there are nearly none visible bubbles nor scratches on the surface. PET sequins are more washable and hard wearing, they are also s better choice environmentally.  PET is the most common type of plastic. It is non-toxic, uses less energy to manufacture than PVC, and, unlike PVC, is the easiest type of plastic to recycle - like a regular plastic bottle. About a couple of years ago, some customers wrote to us about sequins made of recycled PET. We have been worked on this since then but was rejected by our base film supplier. I was surprised when I saw the piece of sample  RPET film as in following photo in the Recycle Science Museum. The film in that bottle is our hotseller starlight series.

I then consulted Intertek on the GRS certification. They told me that the GRS is not about the product itself, it is the whole supply chain that involved in. Since we product the sequins only, and our film have been processed by at least three different factories. To get the GRS certification, we still have a lot of work to do, but we are working on it.
